Ensuring Fire Safety with MATRIX Fire Extinguishers
Fire extinguishers play an incredibly important role in fire protection and are a vital component to protecting people and assets in any environment.
Having a fire extinguisher readily available for use can help prevent major damage to property and serious harm to people.
Maintain Regulatory Fire Safety
Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, which employers and property owners must follow, fire extinguishers must be installed and equipped to deal with small fires.
The fact that the importance of fire extinguishers is stressed in official legislation highlights just how vital they can be in providing fire protection.

Different Types of Fire Extinguishers
Something you may not be aware of is that there are a variety of different fire extinguishers, all built to handle different types of fires. Knowing about the different types of extinguishers will help you select which ones will most benefit you and your property.
Water Extinguishers - This variety of fire extinguishers is primarily used for tackling Class A fires. This means fires fuelled by solid sources such as wood or paper.
Foam Extinguishers - Used commonly for Class B fires, foam extinguishers specialise in putting out fires on flammable liquids.
CO2 Extinguishers - These types of extinguishers are also used to tackle Class B fires, however, these are better suited to deal with electrical fires.
Dry Powder Extinguishers - Dry powder extinguishers are the most versatile, being able to effectively deal with Class A, B and C fires. These extinguishers can be used for fire created on solids or liquids.
